 Intermediate level French Newspaper + Cassettes
ETINCELLE newspapers and cassettes are published three times a year, September, January and March. The newspapers are composed of six units. Each unit is made up of a text with supporting activities which bring the student from pre-reading activities to productive activities. The pre-reading activities activate students' background
knowledge and linguistic skills. The chosen texts are up-to-date and topical for a 16-18 year old audience. Each
 newspaper also includes a grammar section which covers two grammatical points per issue, 3 pages of extra-reading material as well as teachers' notes, a progress test for students, the transcript of the cassette and a competition.

Note: The ACE self-tests are self-correcting, which means that you can check your answers yourself. You can check your

   D.E.L.F  : What does it means ? Diplôme d'Etude en Langue Française
   The DELF  is organised in two levels, each level having its own certificate.

The first level of the DELF certifies that the student has mastered the fundamental skills in French. The holder of such a certificate should be able to communicate in every daily situations.

The second level of the DELF is taken when the student has improved his skills. This level implies a general knowledge of French civilisation and a first approach to specialised French in the subject chosen by the candidate.

Each diploma has a certain number of units that may be passed separately. The diploma is granted when all the units have been obtained.  The first level of the DELF has 4 units (from A1 to A4). The second level of the DELF
has only 2 units (A5 and A6).  About 100 hours of French studies is needed to pass one unit.

In each diploma, units can he taken separately. The candidate may present the exam as many times as needed, in any order, and in any testing centre. There is no time limit between the first unit passed and the last one.

A unit successfully passed is valid indefinitely. A certificate will be awarded for each unit passed with success. Once all the units in a given diploma have been obtained, the candidate will receive his diploma.
